The Clinical FRCS(Plast) Examination puts you in the spotlight. Under significant stress and with little time, the candidate is expected to compose and deliver a confident and well-structured response to fluctuating questions and clinical scenarios. Performance on the day is significantly affected by nerves which is conveyed through the resultant body language.
Presenting the examiners with the confidence of a day 1 Consultant is not easy nor will knowledge alone convince them of your experience and capability. Strategic preparation and presentation of your knowledge is paramount. Your clarity of thought, demeanour and delivery are critical to a successful outcome.
At Surgical-Art we recognise this and have partnered with Spotlight School of Speech & Drama to develop a comprehensive course specifically targeting this performance of the FRCS candidate.
Using our cross cutting experience we have distilled out specific performance markers covering verbal and non-verbal communication skills, exam strategy and stress management which will be evaluated during the four day course providing the candidate with objective/targeted feedback and appropriate solutions. Viva/Consultation simulations along with specially-designed innovative exercises will be used to make these assessments in a safe environment whilst sessions covering the Plastic Surgery Syllabus will give you the tools to assimilate your knowledge more effectively, bringing out your strengths and display it to the examiner via verbal or visual means. Wherever your starting point, the course will help you manage this less frequented yet overwhelmingly important components of your exam preparation.
