Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Hand Surgeon
Mr Bell is a consultant plastic surgeon based in Whiston Hospital in Merseyside. He has a particular interest in hand surgery, particularly relating to acute trauma and secondary reconstruction of post-traumatic injuries, and nerve injuries and soft-tissue reconstruction of the lower limb. He trained in North-West, England and was awarded the British Society of Surgery of the Hand (BSSH) Pulvertaft fellowship to spend six months in India studying the management of traumatic limb injuries. He also undertook the advanced training hand fellowship in Derby. Shortly after this he gained the Diploma in Hand Surgery. He has worked in Whiston and St Helens Hospitals since 2009 and is deputy clinical director of the Burns and Plastic Surgery department.
He has an interest in teaching in an innovative way and has developed the chicken hand and Lego finger teaching aids.
